Massage Therapy that Soothes & Heals
My name is Joan and I have been a massage therapist for 30 years. I have discovered massage therapy to be very rewarding. By helping others, I found the giving has helped me personally. I believe massage therapy has made a huge difference in my patients lives. In some instances it has eliminated the need for surgery.
My training was primarily pre- med classes plus the different massage modalities. I’ve also visited the dissection lab at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon. That visit was instrumental in the direction practice would take. It allowed me to see how strong the human body truly is.
Massage therapy is regulated by the State of Washington. Each person has to pass a written test and a practical examination. The testing is only allowed after completion of a 500 hou s class with a passing grade.
Massage therapy is for everyone from the newborn to the very elderly. There is benefits for all! Whether you’re looking for help with soft tissue issues ( muscles ) or for relaxation, you will find it through massage therapy.
In my practice, I’m versed in Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Therapy, Sports Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Acupressure, Cross Fiber, and Reflexology just to name a few. I have helped patients with TMJ problems, Carpal Tunnel, Tendonitis, Headaches, high blood pressure, post surgery recovery, insomnia, scar tissure, and body aches. I have helped with with knee surgery and hip replacements, sprained ankles, muscle spasms, and limited range of motion.
